Detox
 Detox unit and nursing staff
Detoxification is necessary when an individual is exhibiting or has the potential for serious symptoms of withdrawal. Withdrawal from alcohol and certain drugs may pose a life-threatening situation. In addition, many individuals experience symptoms that are not life-threatening, but make them so uncomfortable that continued use of drugs is necessary to maintain a false sense of wellness. This often keeps alcoholics and addicts from seeking recovery.
Medically monitored detoxification can relieve withdrawal symptoms and ensure a safe detox allowing the client to enter treatment without fear of further withdrawal. Suboxone® is available for detox from heroin and other opiates when appropriate. The length of stay in our detox unit is generally from one to four days. During the detox period, clients begin the assessment and treatment process and transition to continued participation in the short-term treatment program.
 Dr. Richard Moran
Our medical director is Dr. Richard Moran. Dr. Moran holds a D.O. degree and is a licensed addiction specialist. The staff consists of medical doctors, a nurse practitioner, licensed nurses and addiction counselors. Nurses staff the detox unit 24 hours a day.
